Searching for Friday

It has been a beautiful day; blazing sun, light breeze - perfect for hay drying but of course we haven’t cut ours yet due to the torrential rain which has not arrived.  Carl says there is something coming in the air tonight - he could write a song about that!

Poo collecting today in the blazing sun has driven me a little mad (sorry - waste management).  This has not been helped by the fact that I have broken the catch on the caravan window and Carl is looking very superior about it.  I spent a long day of wandering the hill making a list in my head of things to do after hay making :

  1. Clutch on the car
  2. Exhaust on the car
  3. Sort the fleece and design products - go into production
  4. Do something about the toilet and bathroom carpets - we really shouldn’t have carpet in there
  5. VAX the carpets everywhere else
  6. Terrace the front garden it is very steep and I have plummeted almost to my death several times
  7. Weed the borders - there are some very nice Sweet Williams in there somewhere
  8. Plant more wild flowers - not Brussels
  9. Fix the back light on the caravan - and the window as well now
  10. Try to make a pathway through Sam’s bedroom
  11. Learn to spin
  12. Find Carl’s missing hanky - Carl is a hanky man.  He says his Dad always told him to take a clean hanky in case he met a lady in distress.  He has a set of hankies with the days of the week on them.  He didn’t buy them, they were a present, I hasten to add (and he does have others) but I cannot find Friday and there appear to be two Wednesdays.  It does not bother Carl - in fact I don’t think he even realises Friday is missing and I did notice he sneaked out Saturday when it was actually Monday.  However, it annoys me that one is missing

Having seen the length of the list I think I have just realised why Carl is in no hurry to cut the hay.

Yoda is now a whopping 9.6kg!  Prudence’s baby is now trying to kick it’s way out of the side and we are off to Islay’s mating tomorrow!
