Not a happy joining!

My lovely Islay’s mating this morning and I have very mixed feelings about it. She was not keen. She did sit and he did perform, in fact he was very enthusiastic but I knew she was not keen and I felt really bad. If you read this Sandra, forgive me, I know this will sound daft to a big breeder but I can’t help it. The man wanted to give her Receptol and said it was all normal and that would sort her hormones out but it just did not feel right. He thought I was a silly woman, I could tell but there you go. I don’t think she is pregnant but I said that was that and we won’t remate again until we have our own stud and then we will if she wants to. Soppy, silly, unbusinesslike but I couldn’t live with keep forcing her. Everytime I went over to her this afternoon she looked at me very accusingly and I feel bad!
On a positive note I have just checked over Emily and she has crimp in her topknot and in her tail - and it is a nice even tight one. Just hope it continues to develop well.
Tomorrow we have to be up very early as it is a trip to Bozedown for Sherbert and Crispie’s matings. We are due there at 9.30am and it is about a two and a half hour drive - and with the cria - so very nerve wracking!
