Highs and Lows and exclamation marks!!!
I am SO proud! Rob from Wellground added me to his Blog list! I have never been on anyone’s blog list before! It’s really exciting! Now I feel a great responsibility to up the standard of this blog writing (that’ll never be achieved though I am afraid!) I am now attempting to add my name to his list - I always read it but didn’t realise how you added yourself to the list, that is my task for later.
Back to today. Prue’s baby has finally arrived! (The English Inspector I worked with in my former life would be aghast at the number of exclamation marks I am using) Prue was very restless this morning and it was hammering down with rain. I opened up the run down to the open barn and all girls and cria trotted down there and settled quite contentedly chewing hay and watching the rain from the dry - except Prue! She lay out in the middle of the field shivering and would not go in. I kept checking but by 12 nothing had happened and I was desperate for a coffee and had no milk. It takes about forty minutes to get to the shop and back and I got stuck behind a cattle lorry doing 10mph. By the time I got back the cria was born, up and tottering around. It looks like another monster and is a glorious brilliant white. Now for all the bad news! Sandra, you will sympathise with my slight lack of joy when I lifted it’s tail and saw what I did not want to see - it’s a boy! Then it turned round and looked at me, as I attempted to spray it with the blue spray, with beautiful, big BLUE eyes! Not the best result but he is healthy looking and very lively. Yoda is now bullying him big time! Carl thinks we should call the cria Sundance or Butch Cassidy (we can’t remember which one Paul Newman played!)
We now think we deserve a bit of a rest this evening so after our Cauliflower Cheese Grills (all I could find in the freezer) I am going to sit in the field with a book and watch my new blue eyed white feeding. Carl has just got a Beamish Suzuki trials bike which he has not even had the chance to look at properly yet (apart from one quick ride up and down the bank in third field), so he is going to tinker all night! Bless him!

Hi Rosemary, I added your blog to my ‘blog list’ because it’s an excellent blog, with lots of interesting information. I hope people enjoy reading it as much as we did.

Rosemary, it is indeed a most excellent blog, and if anyone complains that there are too many exclamation marks cluttering up the place, just give them a dustpan and brush.
