The Meeting!
20/07/2009 by Rosemary.
Blog is a little late being written tonight as we have just had our first ever Westhill Alpacas Board Meeting - attended by me, Carl and Sam! We have so much to discuss and organise at the moment that the only way we could really concentrate was to sit down together with bits of paper and pencils (no coffee, biscuits or lemonade allowed) and just get on with talking through everything. It all sounds a bit pretentious but was actually really useful. My wonderful friend from the village had left us a brilliant book with patterns for hot water bottle covers in it (Thank you, it is perfect!- we will return soon) and phase one of fleece sorting and product planning is now underway! We went through our business plan and checked we were on track and each of us now has a list of things to achieve by Wednesday. I was suprised how seriously we all took it.
This afternoon we finally managed to locate some Summer fly cream we had been looking for - they used it at Bozedown and it healed Sherbert’s problem cut from shearing. We have slathered up Bert’s crack on her back leg and not a fly landed on it this afternoon. Unfortunately, it is a bright day glow yellow and Yoda rubbed against it. We now have one radioactive looking cria! I hope it wears off in the night. Tomorrow Samurai is arriving for a mating with Prudence which will be exciting. It means a lot of moving around as the sheep make such a noise when anything is going on and they need putting as far away as possible.
Waste management and mating pictures tomorrow!
